Two skin treatments, two different jobs

A classic facial works on the surface of your skin: cleansing, exfoliating, extracting and hydrating to leave the complexion fresh. A buccal massage works underneath, on the facial muscles themselves, to lift and release tension. Many clients eventually book both on a rotation, but they answer different needs, so the sections below explain each one on its own terms.

  • Choose a facial when your main concern is skin: dullness, congestion, dehydration or a pre-event glow.
  • Choose buccal massage when your main concern is structure: puffiness, jaw tension or softer facial definition.
  • Not sure which fits? A short consultation at the start of any appointment settles it.

Facial

Facial treatment: a reset for the surface of your skin

A facial is a structured skin treatment that cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the face in one sitting. At MC Beauty Lounge each facial for glowing skin is tailored to the skin in front of us rather than run off a fixed script, which matters in Dubai, where sun, heat and constant air conditioning leave skin somewhere between dehydrated and congested. The aim is healthy, balanced skin you can maintain, not a one-off shock to the surface.

It suits almost everyone: skin that looks tired or dull, oily or combination skin that keeps breaking out, dehydrated skin that drinks up moisture, and anyone who simply wants a clean, glowing base before an event. If your skin is highly reactive or you are on prescription skincare, mention it at the start so the products and pressure can be adjusted.

What happens during a facial, step by step

1

Consult & cleanse

We read your skin, agree on a focus, then double cleanse to clear makeup, sunscreen and the day off your face.

2

Exfoliate & extract

Dead skin is lifted and congested pores are cleared gently, so the steps that follow can actually reach the skin.

3

Treat & mask

A serum and mask are matched to your concern, whether that is hydration, brightening or calming redness.

4

Hydrate & protect

We finish with moisturiser and SPF, and talk through how to keep the result going at home.

Clearer, brighter skin

Deep cleansing and extraction clear congestion and dullness, so the complexion looks fresher and more even.

Proper hydration

Serums and masks restore moisture that Dubai's climate strips out, which often calms oil that was overproducing to compensate.

A genuine pause

Beyond the skin result, a facial is time set aside for yourself, with the massage steps easing tension as they work.

What to expect: results, timing and downtime

Before

Skin that reads as tired, dull or congested: visible blackheads, uneven texture, a tight or flaky feel from dehydration, and makeup that sits unevenly.

After

A visible glow the same day, cleaner-looking pores, smoother texture and a hydrated, even base. Makeup goes on better and skin feels comfortable rather than tight.

A facial is non-invasive and needs little to no downtime, so most clients head straight back into their day. Any mild redness or warmth usually settles within a few hours. The simplest aftercare is to keep skin makeup-free for the rest of the day and wear SPF, which our team will remind you about. For steady results, a facial every 4 to 6 weeks keeps skin balanced rather than swinging between problem and repair. You can read more in our facial aftercare tips if you want the full routine.

Buccal massage

Buccal massage: sculpting that works from the inside out

Buccal massage is a facial sculpting technique that works both outside and inside the mouth. Wearing gloves, your therapist gently massages the deep facial muscles, the cheeks, jawline and the folds around the nose and mouth, to lift, tone and release tension that builds from stress, clenching or grinding. Our buccal massage for facial sculpting is sometimes called a natural facelift because it reaches muscle that a standard facial cannot.

It suits anyone wanting softer facial definition, less puffiness or relief from jaw tension, and it is popular with clients who hold stress in their face. Because it is intraoral, it can feel unusual for the first minute, never painful, and most people find it deeply relaxing once they settle. Let your therapist know about any recent dental work, facial procedures or medical conditions before you start.

What buccal massage does for your face

Lifted, more contoured face

Working the muscles reduces a sagging feel and brings out definition in the cheekbones and jawline.

Less puffiness and bloating

Better circulation and lymphatic flow help drain water retention, especially across the cheeks and under the eyes.

Released jaw tension

For clients who clench or grind, easing the masticatory muscles can relieve tightness held around the jaw.

Calm and wellbeing

Releasing stored facial tension is as much about how you feel as how you look, and many clients leave noticeably calmer.

Buccal massage: results, downtime and how often to come

Before

A face that feels tight or tense around the jaw, with puffiness across the cheeks and contours that have softened or lost some definition.

After

More lifted, defined contours, a de-puffed look and a jaw that feels released. Many clients notice a visible difference after a single session.

Downtime needed

There is no downtime with buccal massage. You may notice mild redness or tenderness straight after, which fades quickly. Visible results often appear after 1 to 3 sessions, and for lasting sculpting and skin renewal we recommend a course on a weekly or bi-weekly rhythm before settling into maintenance. As with every treatment here, it is performed by a trained professional with strict hygiene, fresh gloves and a clear explanation of each step as it happens.

Beauty treatments in Dubai: your questions answered

What is the difference between a facial and a buccal massage?

A facial treats the surface of your skin: it cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates to leave the complexion clearer and fresher. A buccal massage works deeper, on the facial muscles, both outside and inside the mouth, to lift contours, reduce puffiness and release tension. A facial is for skin health and glow; buccal massage is for structure and tension. Many clients book both on a rotation.

How long does each treatment take?

A buccal massage session at MC Beauty Lounge runs about 1 hour 30 minutes, since it works methodically through the deep facial muscles. A facial is shorter and depends on the focus you choose. If you are short on time, tell us when you book and we will suggest the option that fits your window.

Is there any downtime after a facial or buccal massage?

No, neither treatment needs downtime, so you can return to your day straight after. With a facial you may notice mild redness that settles within a few hours; with buccal massage you may feel mild redness or tenderness that fades quickly. The only aftercare we ask for a facial is to stay makeup-free for the rest of the day and wear SPF.

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

A facial gives a visible glow the same day, with smoother texture and a hydrated, even base. Buccal massage often shows visible results after 1 to 3 sessions, and many clients notice a difference after just one. For lasting buccal results we suggest a course on a weekly or bi-weekly rhythm before moving to maintenance.

How often should I book each treatment?

For a facial, every 4 to 6 weeks keeps skin balanced rather than swinging between problem and repair. For buccal massage, weekly or bi-weekly sessions build the sculpting and skin-renewal effect, after which you can space them out to maintain the look.

Are the treatments safe and hygienic?

Yes. Every treatment is performed by a trained professional, and hygiene is central to how the studio runs: single-use blades and needles are opened in front of you, and buccal massage is done with fresh gloves. Tell your therapist about any medical conditions, recent dental work or recent facial procedures before your session so the treatment can be adjusted.

Can I pay in instalments, and do you offer discounts?

Yes. You can split the cost of your treatment with Tabby or Tamara pay-later, and discounts are available with your Fazaa card, Emirates Platinum card or Esaad card. Just mention your card when you book on WhatsApp and show it at the studio.

Where are you located and how do I book?

We are in Jumeirah Lake Towers, Cluster B, which is convenient from JLT, Dubai Marina and JBR, with free parking available. Booking is by WhatsApp at +971 52 977 0115: message us with your treatment and preferred time and we will confirm your slot. All prices include VAT.
